Backpack made from corn waste, PLA material from corn starch. With drawstrings. Capacity approx. 8 liters. The byproduct of corn is called PLA. PLA (polylactic acid) is usually made from the sugars in corn starch, cassava, or sugarcane. PLA is 100% biodegradable and 100% compostable. To turn corn into a type of plastic (PLA), the corn kernels are mixed with sulfur dioxide in hot water, causing all components in this mixture to develop back into starch, proteins, and fibers. Yarn is made from the fibers, and thus a bag can be developed from it. The logo "bio bag compostable – made of corn" is printed on the bag as standard.
